چکیده

Pavement thickness is a very vital component during the design stage of road construction project. helps to determine costs project over certain period ascertain how cost pavement affect life cycle road. Road pavements are designed based on type subgrade material and expected traffic load help clients decision-makers make decisions In this study, expansive materials were improved using lime cement their California Bearing Ratio (CBR) was used in design. The study Design Manual for Roads Bridges (DMRB) as guide investigating effect stabilised with varying CBR values mineral structure, characteristics, Atterberg limit, compaction CBR, swell microstructural analysis (scanning electron microscopy (SEM) Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX)) investigated. results show an increase reduction while curing age increased materials. Treated samples high Calcium Silicate Hydrate (C-S-H) gel formation after 7 28 days curing. observed values. established that overall can be reduced additives stabilisation.

Is Flexible Pavement Design on the Right Road?

The principles underlying current mechanistic–empirical pavement design methods for fully flexible pavements have changed little in the past 30 years. They generally use linear elastic theory to determine the permissible strain at critical locations in the pavement structure to safeguard the road against excessive fatigue and structural deformation. These criteria are calibrated using performan...

Utilization of Soil Stabilization with Cement and Copper Slag as Subgrade Materials in Road Embankment Construction

In this study, unconfined compression tests have been conducted to investigate the impacts of copper slag on mechanical characteristics for stabilized cement and un-stabilized soil. Dozens of specimens were prepared at four percentages of cement (i.e. 0%, 2%, 4% and 6%) and five percentages of copper slag (i.e. 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) by weight of dry soil. The samples compacted into a cylind...

Behavior of Flexible Pavements on Expansive Soils

This investigation discusses the findings on analysis results of a pavement structure constructed on a relatively expansive material consisting mainly of brown clayey silt in Tebessa, Algeria. Cores were brought to the laboratory from a piece of roadwork. Remolded samples were taken from subgrade of a deteriorated road. The soils were generally found to be of medium plasticity and of a medium t...

Management aspects of road pavement rehabilitation

The optimization of a pavement management system necessitates the knowledge on the actual values of pavement condition parameters, actual pavement condition improvement as related to the use of various rehabilitation strategies, and scope of pavement deterioration before and after rehabilitation. The data for six pavement condition parameters (bearing capacity, unevenness, rut depth, macro text...
